Assessment Service

When your child is struggling at school, it’s difficult to know what to do. By having your child assessed, you will gain a greater appreciation of your child’s needs and how to best move forward. Encompass Tuition offers a range of assessments to assist you with your decision-making.

Encompass Tuition recognises that reading is a vital skill that underpins successful learning. With my extensive knowledge of phonics-based instruction and experience in tutoring young people with a range of reading challenges, I can help your child improve their reading and build confidence when dealing with text-based learning.

Learning to sound out effectively, choosing the right letters, breaking words into smaller parts and understanding basic spelling rules, all contribute to the challenge of learning to spell with accuracy. Encompass Tuition can assist those for whom spelling appears overwhelming and need guidance to build their skills.

If your child is struggling with the basics or has missed some vital learning such as fractions in previous years, Encompass Tuition can make a difference.
Encompass Tuition will work with your child to understand and identify their needs and design a program to fill those gaps in knowledge and skills.

Encompass Tuition still teaches handwriting because research has shown that fluent handwriting helps us to remember ideas, and assists in learning to read and spell more effectively.

Written Composition

Writing does not come naturally to most students because it is an extremely complex task involving idea creation, text coherence, grammar and punctuation. Like most learning tasks, it requires a structured approach. Beginning with the sentence and building from this point, Encompass Tuition can help your child develop this powerful tool of communication.

Irlen Syndrome

Irlen Syndrome occurs when the brain does not process the full spectrum of light leading to distortions of text or other visual processing issues such as poor depth perception. As a certified Irlen Screener, my role is to identify those who may have Irlen Syndrome. Identification of this condition could be the answer to your child’s visual difficulties..
